Who it is for

This service is for teams whose people answer the same recurring questions about their own procedures, handbooks and reference documents.

We can start where the work repeats most.

You do not need infrastructure knowledge or confidential files for the first conversation.

What you get

An assistant that answers from the documents we agree it may use, with the source page shown for each answer.

I agree the permitted sources, expected answer, review responsibility and cases that must remain unresolved before building. In practice that means:

  • Permitted sources: which documents the assistant may retrieve and which users may see them.
  • Expected answers: checks written before looking at an answer, including missing information and conflicting versions.
  • Review responsibility: who checks each answer before the team relies on it.
  • Data boundary: which processing services may receive the information, tested rather than inferred from the interface.

How I build it

First confirm that the cited passage exists in the permitted source and version. Then check that the answer follows from it and preserves its conditions.

I test answerable questions alongside missing information, conflicting versions and access restrictions.

A source quotation alone does not establish that the conclusion is correct, and passing a small example does not establish general accuracy.

Read how to write acceptance checks for an internal knowledge assistant for the full method with a fictional handbook example.

Limits

An answer needs checking against its source. Missing information, wrong citations and misunderstood documents are cases to test, not reasons to trust a fluent response.

A citation can be present while the conclusion is wrong. Check both.

I do not promise savings or an accuracy rate. If your documents must stay inside your own systems, read what has to run on your own systems to keep documents in house.

Who you work with

I'm Stéphane Lepain, founder of CPLT. You work directly with me, from scoping to handover. I agree the permitted information, human checks, scope and price before paid work starts. More about me and how I work.

Questions before you start.

Do I need my own servers?

No. I start with the task and your data requirements. Private hosting is optional. The chosen setup determines hardware, provider and operating costs.

How do I stop the assistant inventing answers?

By testing, not by trusting fluency. I test missing information, wrong citations and conflicting versions before your team relies on the assistant, and the source and the conclusion are checked separately. A citation can be present while the conclusion is wrong.

Who checks the answers?

Your team does. We agree the review responsibility and the cases a person must review before building. The assistant shows the source page for each answer so the check is possible.

What does an engagement cost?

The 45-minute remote scoping call is free and ends in a one-page written note on fit and next steps. Paid work has a written scope and a price agreed before it starts. There is no public price list.
