Private AI hosting is a delivery choice
- If your requirements justify it, I build a workspace in your environment.
- I assess model size, document handling, simultaneous use, operating responsibility and cost before sizing hardware.

Who it is for
Private hosting is for teams whose data boundary requires the interface, the documents, the indexes and the logs to stay in systems the business controls.
It is a delivery choice, not a prerequisite. Existing tools are welcome, and approved external APIs are another option.

What you get
A workspace built in your environment, sized after the assessment, with the operating responsibilities agreed in writing.
Approved external APIs are another option. I document which information may reach each provider and check the configured routes and applicable terms. External APIs use your provider accounts and API keys; consumer chat subscriptions do not cover API usage.
Running an open-weight model on your own server, with vLLM, Ollama or llama.cpp, is one way to keep the model call inside your systems. A hybrid that keeps only the sensitive steps local is another.

How it works
For an external provider, check the data-processing agreement and responsibilities as well as the technical route.
For a hosted system, I agree monitoring, backup and recovery requirements and test the relevant procedures in your environment.
For the cost decision, read my server-versus-API cost comparison.
Limits
Hosting locally does not, by itself, prove that no data leaves the environment. Applications, models, backups and connected services all need to fit the agreed boundary.
The customer chooses where the system is hosted. I have no hosting preference and take no partner commission.

Questions before you start.
Do I need my own servers?
No. I start with the task and your data requirements. Private hosting is optional. The chosen setup determines hardware, provider and operating costs.
Is a local model automatically more private?
No. Running the model locally keeps that one call inside your systems, but the rest of the stack, OCR, embeddings, logging, backups, can still call an external service. Check where each component actually runs, not just where the model sits.
Does the build price cover every running cost?
No. I include implementation, model/API usage, hosting, human review, correction, maintenance and support in the assessment. External APIs use your provider accounts and API keys; usage is billed separately from consumer chat subscriptions.
What does an engagement cost?
The 45-minute remote scoping call is free and ends in a one-page written note on fit and next steps. Paid work has a written scope and a price agreed before it starts. There is no public price list.
